happy new year

A happy, a healthy and a memorable 2009 and all of you and yours.
-- Moments after this photo was taken I took the short cut to the house (over the stone wall.) Forgetting that I was still half asleep and wearing footwear that was wholly inappropriate for the conditions, I stepped up onto the wall, slipped back off it again and landed on my ankle.
I am now going to spend New Year's Day on a sofa with my foot in the air.
If the opening of a year is in any way indicative of the remainder I'm going to bed - wake me up in 2010.

Ahhhh you sound as accident prone as me! I'm known as Accidental Abi or just plain Disaster Area....

I hope you're not too seriously damaged!

I recognise you Angela. You're cool teacher of the month for Deecember. I especially liked your answer to "Do you have a favorite quote or mantra?"

Awesome picture, Sam! You suffer for your art! That's pretty cool in an age of limpid oiks clicking their Photoshop files into parasitic pop art.

I'm sorry about your ankle. That must have hurt. I'm always hurting myself one way or another. I fell on my face today, turning the water main off. Yup, I'm lucky to still have teeth. And a chin.

Either way, that is a beautiful photo, very calming, and makes me homesick for up north. No, I'm not from Ireland, but it looks like somewhere I'd like to walk on a crisp autumn day. Even a cold winter day. Or a balmy summer day. If I don't stop hurting myself, I won't be walking anywhere.

Hope your ankle feels better, as well as your head, now that you've been subjected to my inane rambling. Happy new year, Mr. C!
