ireland - grand slam winners 2009!!!

I can't type. My voice has gone. I have tears in my eyes. My heart is pounding. I cannot begin to describe how I feel right now - Ireland haven't won the grand slam in over half a century. They haven't even won the championship in decades. My cat has gone running in terror as I jumped around the room screaming. Ireland have won the championship, they've won the triple crown, they've won the grand slam... I'm a bit happy.

Congratulations. I always knew they could do it.

It's sweet that you're so choked up about it.

it's the simple things Karen, the simple things. I don't have much to get choked up about so when something comes along I make the most of it - this is pretty special though

for all posterity to see: there's nothing the welsh do that the irish can't do better.

hope you're happy . . .

I think we're all happier. It's good to admit it. In fact if you shout it from the roof tops I've heard it does all kinds of strange things to you.

Being from St. Louis and having family in Chicago, I feel a certian affinity to Ireland. My wife is a Quinn, and we met on St. Patrick's Day, so that adds to the cache. I have not a drop of the Auld Sod in me. I watched a bit of that match, not a real rugby fan, but it was fun. Congrats.
